At CentricsIT, we are your IT experts. We are here to help with any IT maintenance issue that arises in your data center. If there is an error code that you can’t fix, we can help in our monthly FixIT column. This month, we’re covering the HP error code: IO_PCI_PERR

Error Code:

IO_PCI_PERR

Explanation:

This is an HP error code. When you see the error code IO_PCI_PERR, your server will most likely automatically reboot due to a panic condition.

FixIT:

This error message accompanies a hung reboot and the System LED may be blinking red all the time, even between reboots.

If your System LED light is blinking red, you must first make sure that it is not flashing residually from a previous error that has already been cleared. If possible, make sure your firmware is up to date in case future firmware versions fixed any issues you had. If the LED is still blinking, shut down the system and cycle DC power. (cm>pc).

If you are still having issues with hung rebooting, check your SysEvent Log. If you find the IO_PCI_PERR error code, isolate your PCI card and try to reboot the system. Once you’ve isolated the problem card, remove it and reboot.
