Derek Odegard ranked among Atlanta’s top ten entrepreneurs for second consecutive year
Business to Business Magazine names CentricsIT president to annual list

ATLANTA, Ga., Nov. 7, 2011 – Business to Business Magazine hosted its annual awards dinner for Atlanta’s top 25 entrepreneurs on Thursday, Nov. 3, announcing CentricsIT president Derek Odegard as the seventh-ranked honoree. This is Odegard’s second consecutive top ten appearance, having debuted fifth on the list in 2010.
Odegard, 38, is a lifelong Atlanta resident. He launched CentricsIT with five partners in 2007, and the company has since grown to more than 80 employees and grossed nearly $250 million. 2011 has proven to be a noteworthy year for CentricsIT and Odegard. The company was recently named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Top 100 Private Companies, and its inclusion in the Inc. 5000 list was the company’s third national-level recognition and fifth award this year.
Despite the accolades, Odegard is quick and adamant to deflect credit, citing the collaborative effort of his entire staff as the catalyst behind the company’s success. When asked to share his most valuable lesson to pass on to other entrepreneurs, he replied, “Most of us can’t do it all—make sure you hire and retain talented people.”
Odegard and CentricsIT will be profiled in the upcoming Nov./Dec. issue of Business to Business Magazine, both in print and online.
