2017 GLOBE Award recognizes companies for entering new international markets in 2016
ATLANTA, March 14 — Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), presented CentricsIT with a GLOBE (Georgia Launching Opportunities By Exporting) Award at the 2017 Go Global reception, held Tuesday Mar. 14. 23 other Georgia businesses were also recognized. The award recognizes companies that entered one or more international markets in 2016; this is the third commendation for CentricsIT. Patrick Keuller, Executive Vice President of Global Services; Danny Laca, Global Resource Manager; and Ian Santulli, Global Services Coordinator, accepted the award on behalf of CentricsIT.
“The Go Global event highlights innovative businesses and the enormous impact trade has on Georgia’s economy, while providing industry leaders an opportunity to network and strengthen relationships with international partners,” said Deal. “These businesses contribute heavily to Georgia’s success in exports and significantly bolster the state’s economy by reaching new markets.”
The 24 GLOBE Award winners collectively expanded into 129 new markets in 2016. CentricsIT alone expanded to 30 new countries. The top markets among this year’s winners include Australia, Japan, Latin America and the United Kingdom.
“We pride ourselves on our global capabilities and the access to international markets we provide our customers,” said Keuller. “We’re honored to receive this commendation and consider it a testament to the expertise and dedication of our global services and logistics teams. We’re very proud to be based in Georgia and to contribute so much to the state’s international trade growth.”
In 2016, total trade between Georgia and the world exceeded $121.7 billion and exports exceeded $35.5 billion.
