ATLANTA, Oct. 1, 2022 – On Wednesday, September 21, the project management team at CentricsIT came together to make sandwiches for Atlanta’s food insecure population. Working in teams, the group of 45 made nearly 1000 sandwiches for The Sandwich Project to distribute. This morning of volunteering was a part of Centrics Cares, a philanthropic program in which employees come together to give back to the community.

“It’s always amazing to watch our group come together as a team,” said Eleanor Nel, senior director of PMO global services at CentricsIT, “It’s an honor to be able to support The Sandwich Project and the work it does in our community.”

The Sandwich Project began in 2020 as the pandemic disrupted the systems in place to combat food insecurity. Currently, 13% of Georgians face this insecurity with more than a third being ineligible for food assistance programs. The project has distributed more than 580,000 sandwiches since 2020. With 27 drop-off locations, The Sandwich Project continues to grow and serve its community. For more information about their mission, visit their website at thesandwichproject.org.

Centrics Cares was launched in 2012 as the company-sponsored charitable initiatives program of CentricsIT. Since the company’s inception in 2007, it has supported numerous charities and philanthropic ventures.
