FixIT: Error Code 100000AC

There is a detected AC loss or AC power failure.

Failing Item:



If the system powers on normally or stays powered on after the AC power failure, no replacement of parts may be needed. If parts do need to be replaced, follow the instructions for the items listed in the FRU List. Reinstall the power cord. If that doesn’t work, replace the power supply.

The procedure needed to replace a power supply varies per machine. The following instructions are for repairing an issue in an IBM expansion pack. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need further instructions on how to replace the power supply for a different IBM machine in your data center.

If you are installing a hot swap power supply, slide the new power supply into the bay until it latches in place. The same procedure should be used for installing any additional hot swap power supplies.

If you removed a failing part and need to replace the power supply assembly while the power is still on, you must first determine if you are able to perform the procedure. You must be using two power supplies in the expansion unit so that it continues to operate if the first power supply fails. If you are performing the procedure concurrently, you have a limit of less than five minutes to replace the power supply before the I/O drawer automatically shuts down.

You need to assess whether you will be able to perform the following steps in less than five minutes:

  1. Have the replacement power supply or fan ready and available.
  2. Remove the power supply from the expansion unit
  3. Install the fan into the power supply as required for the service procedure being performed.
  4. Install the power supply into the enclosure.

After reviewing these steps and ensuring that you can successfully perform the process in less than five minutes, you may begin with the procedure.
