This is an error code that occurs if you have a Cisco module with TenGigabitEthernet X2 ports and are in need of 1 GigabitEthernet SFP ports instead. This happens when you install the TwinGig Converter Module into the X2 port, and configuration issue arises. When installing the converter module, the configuration is not entirely intuitive, and further action is required to address the issue. Once the TwinGig Converter has been installed, the console will display the following message:
*Sep 3 12:13:43.683: %C4K_GLMMAN-3-X2PLUGGABLESEEPROMREADFAILED: Failed to read seeprom on port Te3/3. Reinsert X2 module or configure GigabitEthernet port group if TwinGigConverter is installed. *Sep 3 12:13:43.683: %C4K_GLMMAN-3-X2PLUGGABLESEEPROMREADFAILED: Failed to read seeprom on port Te3/3. Reinsert X2 module or configure GigabitEthernet port group if TwinGigConverter is installed.

Removing this error is very simple—only a few steps are needed to help reconfigure the module. You will need to enter the following commands into your console or syslog:
- Switch#conf t
- Switch(config)#hw-module module (module number ) port-group 1 select gigabitethernet
- Switch(config)#hw-module module (module number ) port-group 2 select gigabitethernet
Entering the commands should reconfigure the TwinGig Converter Module to comply with the new settings, and the error code will disappear.If these actions do not remove the code, there could be further issues with the module itself.
